Direct Primary Care Clinic in Bellaire Houston, or DPC, is a membership practice model attempting to fix a largely broken medical care system. Patients pay a monthly fee to belong to a practice. The practice does not bill the patient’s insurance. This means that all information stays private and is only between the practice and the patient, unless required by law. In traditional practices, the insurance is sent the bill along with the clinic notes.
In a DPC practice, patient panel sizes are between 200-400 patients instead of the usual 3000+ patient panels in a traditional practice. This allows members to have DIRECT access to their primary care doctor and longer visit times to develop personalized health care treatment plans.
