About Us

Luxe Primary Practice is a passion project of Doctor Alvarez and his wife, Family Nurse Practitioner, Terri Alvarez. After practicing primary care in a large institution for many years they made the decision to take primary care back to the basics. They wanted the focus to be placed back on the patient-doctor relationship and less on logistics.

Luxe Primary Practice is a family-owned and operated business, we take pride in being family. When creating Luxe Primary Practice, the Alvarez’s wanted to keep the practice family oriented. They wanted every patient to feel like they are part of the family.

“We care for our patient’s as if they were part of our family.” -Adan Alvarez, MD.

Dr. Adan Alvarez, MD

MD, Family Medicine

Adan Alvarez, M.D., a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, is a family medicine physician serving patients in the Houston area from adolescence to geriatric populations.

Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Alvarez treats a variety of illnesses acute and chronic. He also focuses on preventative care and sees patients for annual physicals and women’s health assessments. His approach to medicine is holistic. He believes the cornerstone of long-term health is in making lifestyle modifications that can be incorporated into everyday life but have a dramatic impact on health in the long term. Dr. Alvarez enjoys working together with his patients to create a treatment plan that is both realistic and attainable. He goes above and beyond to make sure patients understand their treatment plan and how it influences their underlying medical conditions.

For him, the best part of practicing medicine is getting to build relationships with his patients.

He is a second-generation family medicine physician. Dr. Alvarez’s father was also a family practice physician. This influenced him at very early age and instilled in him the passion of what true family medicine is. He decided at a very young age to follow in his father’s footsteps.

He attended the University of Texas Pan American now renamed UT Rio Grande Valley, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He then came to Houston where he did his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Alvarez did an intern year in general surgery at Baylor before starting his family medicine residency. He completed his family medicine residency at Halifax Center for Family and Sports Medicine in Daytona Beach, Florida.

After completing his residency, he came back to Houston and began practicing primary care with Memorial Hermann Medical Group in Cypress. He then moved on to doing internal medicine at psychiatric facilities where he served as Medical Director and established Geriatric Units at both Behavior Hospital of Bellaire and Cypress Creek Hospital. Now he wants to go back to his roots and provide personalized primary care without the restrictions brought on by today’s insurance companies and billing structures.

In his spare time Dr. Alvarez takes joy in cooking and spending time outdoors. He enjoys doing things like camping and attending his boys’ little league and soccer games. Let’s not forget the monthly date nights with his wife to try new restaurants around the city.
